Tampa Bay Innovation Center Honors its Volunteers

Tampa Bay Innovation Center, an innovation and entrepreneurship center for technology businesses, recognized a number of its volunteers at its annual Chairman’s Recognition Reception held at the Rusty Pelican in Tampa.

“We are so grateful to our many volunteers for the time, effort and value they offer our clients,” says Tonya Elmore, president and CEO of Tampa Bay Innovation Center.  “We are pleased to recognize them and thank them for their contribution to our mission of ‘accelerating entrepreneurial success.’”

Tampa Bay Innovation Center Presents December TECH Talk Program

Tampa Bay Innovation Center, an innovation and entrepreneurship center for technology businesses, will present its December program on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. at Microsoft Headquarter offices, 5426 Bay Center Dr., Suite 700, Tampa.

The December TECH Talk program, “Obamacare – Where are we and what is happening in 2014,” will be presented by Kelley Rexroad, SPHR, founder and principal consultant of krexconsulting. The program will focus on the Affordable Care Act and how it affects business owners. 

1 Million Cup St Petersburg Calls for Entrepreneurs to Present at Weekly Meeting

1 Million Cups, a weekly program developed by the Kauffman Foundation and sponsored locally in St. Petersburg, invites entrepreneurs to present to mentors, advisers, service providers and other entrepreneurs at a 9 a.m. meeting on Wednesdays at St. Petersburg Greenhouse, 440 2nd Ave. North, St. Petersburg.

“We’re amazed at the response we’ve seen to date, with more than 40 people attending each Wednesday,” says Danielle Weitlauf, client services manager at Tampa Bay Innovation Center and one of the program organizers.  “This is a unique opportunity for start up entrepreneurs to get in front of the right audience, and for other entrepreneurs to make connections for their business.”

Every Wednesday morning, two early-stage entrepreneurs present their companies, with each founder taking six minutes to present, followed by 20 minutes of Q&A.  Coffee is provided by Kahwa Coffee.  There is no cost to present or attend.  Individuals interested in presenting or attending can get information at www.1millioncups.com/stpete. 

Tampa Bay Innovation Center Hosts “Diary of an Entrepreneur” Series at November TECH Talk Program du

Tampa Bay Innovation Center, an innovation and entrepreneurship center for technology businesses, will present the next of its “Diary of an Entrepreneur” series at the November TECH Talk program on Friday, Nov. 22, at 8:30 a.m. at Microsoft Headquarters offices, 5426 Bay Center Dr., Suite 700, Tampa.  The program is the culminating event in Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The program, “You Can Change Your Life for $5,” will feature serial entrepreneur Dean Akers, CEO of Airheads Trampoline Centers. Akers will share why his $5 solution works and how it can change businesses and lives.
