Tampa Bay Innovation Center Honors Partners and Volunteers

Tampa Bay Innovation Center, an innovation and entrepreneurship center that assists emerging and entrepreneurial technology companies, recognized volunteers and partners at its annual Chairman’s Recognition Reception held at the Rusty Pelican in Tampa.

“So much of the value we are able to provide to our clients comes as a result of our many volunteers and partners,” says Tonya Elmore, president of Tampa Bay Innovation Center.  “We are pleased to recognize them each year and are so grateful for their contribution to our mission of ‘accelerating entrepreneurial success,’ Outstanding Contribution Awards:

Tampa Bay Innovation Center Staff Member Completes Incubator Management Certification Program

 Jenifer Suereth, program coordinator at Tampa Bay Innovation Center, recently completed the National Business Incubation Association’s (NBIA) Incubator Management Certification Program.

“We have long believed that our staff can be most helpful to our clients if they receive in-depth training in the operation of business accelerators and incubators,” says Tonya Elmore, president of Tampa Bay Innovation Center. “We’re pleased that Jen now joins other members of our staff to have received this certification.”

Tampa Bay Innovation Center Hosts December TECH Talk Program for Technology Entrepreneurs

Tampa Bay Innovation Center, an innovation and entrepreneurship center for technology businesses, will host its December TECH Talk program on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Microsoft Headquarter offices, 5426 Bay Center Dr., Suite 700, Tampa.

Jason Stanard, founder and CEO of GreatCircle Studios, will be presenting “It’s Still Google, Stupid!” on the changes in Google ranking algorithms and how they have affected companies’ web SEO approach. In the past two years, Stanard has been nominated for the Tampa Bay Technology Forum’s Rising Star award as well as the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Up-and-Comers award. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Clearwater Downtown Development Board and the advisory board of the International Academy of Design and Technology- Online.

Tampa Bay Innovation Center Receives Tampa Bay Technology Forum’s Excellence in Service Award

Tampa Bay Innovation Center, an innovation and entrepreneurship center for technology businesses, received the Excellence in Service Award from the Tampa Bay Technology Forum. The award was one of six awards presented at the annual TBTF Industry Achievement Awards on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel in St. Petersburg.

“This award really reflects the great ideas and hard work of our staff and volunteer professionals who serve our clients and the community,” says Tonya Elmore, president of Tampa Bay Innovation Center. “We look forward to continuing to develop innovative service offerings to achieve our mission of accelerating entrepreneurial success.”

Tampa Bay Innovation Center Selected for GrowFL Economic Development Grant

Tampa Bay Innovation Center, an innovation and entrepreneurship center for technology businesses, has been selected as one of 10 Entrepreneurial Support Organizations (ESOs) throughout the state to participate in the GrowFL Economic Gardening Initiative, designed to support entrepreneurship and growth companies in Florida.

“This is a perfect complement to our mission of accelerating entrepreneurial success,” says Tonya Elmore, president of Tampa Bay Innovation Center.  “The grant will allow us to work with and nurture up to 15 second-stage entrepreneurs during the next year.”
