Christopher Paradies, Ph.D. is the CEO of Paradies Law P.A.. Mr. Paradies is Florida Bar Board Certified in intellectual property law which includes patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights and is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Mr. Paradies' practice is focused on assisting clients with management of all of their intellectual property, including acquisition, licensing, enforcement in the courts and defense against claims of infringement. He has extensive experience as both a researcher in industry and a patent attorney. Technical areas of expertise include nanotechnology, materials science, semiconductor processing, chemistry, aerospace, medical treatments, medical devices and drug delivery. He received his B.S. in physics from the United States Military Academy, West Point, his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his J.D., summa cum laude, from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center.
Ms. Elmore is a founder, president and CEO of the Tampa Bay Innovation Center. The Innovation Center, an accelerator for early-stage technology firms, is a regional, national and international known success story that has been in operation for nine plus years that continues to build momentum in Pinellas County, Florida. During 2012, the Innovation Center was awarded winner of the Tampa Bay Technology Forum’s Excellence in Service award and was recognized by Entrepreneur.com among the top 10 roundup of international business incubators.
Tonya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and an executive MBA from the University of South Florida. In 2007, Tonya was among the first graduating class to receive a professional designation as a “certified incubator manager” from the National Business Incubator Association.
Ms. Elmore has served as a vice-chair for the Florida Business Incubator Association. She has been named as among the top twenty technology leaders in the Tampa Bay region. Tonya has participated in numerous media appearances and interviews, including Fox 13 Good Day Tampa Bay as an expert on entrepreneurship and early growth strategies.
Most recently she was appointed to the Board of Directors for the St. Petersburg Innovation District and co-chairs the Research, Collaboration and Innovation Committee. Tonya also serves on the Board of Advisors for the USF Center for Entrepreneurship, St. Petersburg College-College of Business Advisory Board, the Iron Yard Board of Advisors, Pinellas County Economic Development Advisory Board and Gulf Beaches Center for Innovation and Digital Learning Magnet School Student Advisory Council. Ms. Elmore previously held a Top Secret Security clearance while working on Defense Contracts
Ms. Rogers is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of Contracts with Constellation Technology Corporation (CTC). She has been with CTC since 2003 and currently serves on its Board of Directors as Treasurer. Ms. Rogers’ has been employed as a CFO or a Business Management Consultant for National and International companies working with the Federal Government in the areas of Service, Support, Manufacturing and R&D in most of her career.
Her extensive experience dealing with the Government along with her background in Accounting/Finance and Business Law has added to her areas of expertise which include developing and implementing compliance controls, policies, processes and procedures for cost accounting, software conversions, budgets, estimating, purchasing, material management, indirect rate structures, proposal development, negotiating contracts, contract management and administration, Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)/Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) audits and compliance issues. She has also participated in several corporate strategic planning conferences and developed a training course on Government Cost Accounting Practices for the USF Small Business Development Center - Procurement Technical Assistance Program Center. Ms. Rogers has previously been appointed to profit/non-profit boards, including the Red Cross when living in Northern Virginia. She currently serves on numerous local Boards in the Tampa Bay area. Ms. Rogers is a member of the National Contract Management Association and the Tampa Bay Chapter of Women in Defense.
Suzie Boland specializes in strategic public relations to drive sales inquiries, build client brands and handle crisis communications, working with national, regional and local clients in the technology, professional services, healthcare, senior services, manufacturing and consumer products/services fields. She has more than 20 years experience in marketing, communications and public relations, both as a marketing executive and an agency principal. A graduate of Leadership Tampa, she was founding advisory council chairman of STAR TEC (now Tampa Bay Innovation Center), where she is now a board member and chairman of the marketing committee; and was a founding board member of the Tampa Bay Technology Forum and Tech Village Tampa Bay incubator. She is a board member and marketing vice chairman of the CEO Council of Tampa Bay, a member of the board and communications chairman of the Association for Corporate Growth and board member of Trinity Café. She was named “2007 CEO of the Year for Marketing” by Tampa Bay CEO Magazine and “2004 Tech Leader of the Year” by the Tampa Bay Technology Forum.
Shawn R. Hughes has over 30 years experience with technology companies and is currently the Chief Executive Officer of CertiPath LLC, a Washington DC based company that is the federated trust authority for high-assurance identity and access control environments. Prior to joining Certipath, Mr. Hughes was CEO of BlueSky Mast, a leader in elevating technologies for the federal security and communications markets; President & COO of ThermoEnergy Corporation, a publicly traded clean energy company; and Chief Executive Officer of Fortress Technologies where he led the turnaround of an insolvent business, ultimately resulting in a successful sale of the company to General Dynamics. Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Slippery Rock University and an MBA from Florida State University. He is active with local charities and resides in Tampa, FL with his wife, Sandy.
Doug Martin is currently a managing consultant for Miller Martin Capital Partners, LLC. Previously, Doug was the CFO and acting COO of Imagine International Corporation, a Tampa-based consumer electronics company; as well as, the Managing Partner of Business Consulting Group, a local management consulting firm Doug founded in 2002. Before that Doug was a Managing Director for PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where for over 23 years he managed large projects, designed unique strategic IT applications, became an interim CEO, COO and CIO, and consulted on many business acquisitions. His experience ranges from small, privately-held to Global 10 manufacturing, distribution, and service corporations; as well as Federal Government Departments and Agencies; and the United Nations. Doug served as Chair of the Tampa Bay Innovation Center’s Advisory Board for three years, is a current member of the vetting committee and serves as a mentor on two client boards. In addition, Doug serves as a member of the Tampa Bay Innovation Center’s Board of Directors.
